Did you know that martial arts is far more than just fighting?
Martial arts training systems have historically included healing, health maintenance, religion, family relationships, legends, cultural development, mentorship, and combat training. These represent the multi-layered development of the Warrior Within’s mind, body, and spirit. And each martial arts ‘family’ designs an emblem that represents their training systems and philosophies.
Come meet local practitioner/educator Jeremy Jones who will provide an introductory overview of several martial arts systems—including Kali, Pencat Silat, Baguazhang, Tai Chi, and others. Moreover, he will showcase several martial arts artifacts for you to touch, perform a martial arts demonstration for you to observe, and offer plenty of opportunities for you to try some new moves! And for those seasoned practitioners or less adventurous novices you’ll be invited to, using your own handprint, design and color an original take-home emblem that symbolizes your Warrior Within.
