From the catalogue, An Exhibition of Medieval Brass Rubbings by Kathleen H. Cairns: "Hertfordshire, Sir Philip Peletoot, 1361. In mixed plate and chain mail armour. His leggings, probably leather, are studded. The inscription is in Norman French.
INSCRIPTION: "Here lies Philip Peletoot, Knight, who died the thirteenth day of August in the year of grace, 1361.""
