| Description | Description from exhibit catalog English Brass Rubbings by Kathleen Cairns: "Oddington--Ralph Hamsterley, c. 1510. Rector of the church at Oddington, Fellow of Merton College, Oxford. He died in 1518 and had the brass engraved and laid down in the chancel of his church before his death. He is shown as a skeleton in shroud eaten by worms. Shroud brasses appeared about the middle of the 15th century, especially in the eastern counties." |
