Cylinder Seal

Rogers: A haematite seal of the Ur Dynasty showing the worshiper being led to his god by a minor duty (sic). Here the Moon God is seated on a fourlegged throne, without arms and a very low scroll back. His feet rest on a two layer foot-stool. On his head is a turban, showing Amorite influence. Across the left shoulder is draped a Narrow band. He seems to be wearing a full length Shumerican shirt. His right hand rests at the waist and his left is extended, holding a vase. Just to the right of the god's head is a half moon. The next figure wears a costume very similar to the Moon God. A third figure in a Shumerian dress, approaches the god with his hands raised to his face. A fourth figure, drawn in profile, wears a short skirt and a girdle around the waist. His left hand is raised and right hand rests at the waist line.

Porada: A short-clad male figure, a suppliant goddess, and a worshiper before a king or god holding a cup and seated upon a chair. In the field, a crescent above the king or god.
